Shio To Hikari: How to Choose Your Size

At Shio To Hikari, we believe that perfect fit leads to confidence and comfort. To help you select the right size, we recommend following these steps to accurately measure yourself. Use these measurements in conjunction with our Shio To Hikari Size Chart to find the ideal fit for your style.

Please note that for our latest collection, we are offering sizes S, M, and L. If your size is not available or you have specific sizing needs, please get in touch with us.

Due to our commitment to minimizing waste and working with limited quantities of precious Japanese fabrics, we may be able to accommodate custom sizes in certain cases. Please contact us to discuss your options.

Remember, our raw denim will shrink by approximately 5-10% after the first wash, so consider this when choosing your size.

Step 1: Take Your Body Measurements

To ensure the best fit, measure the following areas:

  1. Bust/Chest: Wrap a measuring tape around the fullest part of your bust (for women) or chest (for men), keeping the tape level under your arms and across your back.
  2. Shoulders: Measure from one shoulder seam to the other across your upper back, keeping the tape straight.
  3. Body Length: Start at the highest point of your shoulder (near the neck) and measure down the front of your body to where you want the garment to end (waist, hips, or thighs).
  4. Arm Length: Measure from the shoulder seam down to the wrist bone for accurate sleeve length.
  5. Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of your waist, usually above your belly button.
  6. Hips: Stand with your feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips and buttocks.
  7. Leg Length (Pants Length):
    • Inseam: The inseam is the length of the inner leg, from the crotch to the bottom of the ankle. Stand straight and measure from your crotch to the desired pant length, typically just above the ankle or where you’d like the hem to sit.
    • Outseam: The outseam measures the length of the entire leg, from the waist (at the top of your pants) to the bottom of the ankle. Stand straight and measure from your waist to the bottom of your ankle or to the desired length of the pants.

Step 2: Match Your Measurements to Our Size Chart

Once you have your measurements, refer to our detailed Shio To Hikari Size Chart below to find your best fit. If you're between sizes, consider the fit you prefer:

  • For a more fitted look, opt for the smaller size.
  • For a relaxed or looser fit, go for the larger size.

Tip: If you're unsure or in-between sizes, we recommend choosing the larger size for a comfortable fit. Our garments are designed with minimal ease to maintain a sleek and stylish silhouette.

Step 3: Consider the Garment's Fit and Style

We design each collection with different fits to suit your personal style:

  • Fitted styles are meant to sit close to the body, so choosing your exact measurements will give a snug fit.
  • Relaxed or Oversized styles have extra allowance, so you may choose based on how loose you want the fit to be.

Additional Tips:

  • Check the Fabric: Certain fabrics have more stretch, such as organic cotton or stretch blends, allowing for flexibility in fit.
  • Consult the Product Description: Each product has its own specific sizing notes, so always check for unique sizing information.
  • For raw denims: Please click the following links to find out more about raw denims and how to care for them.
